Good news out of Halton Region: the 9-year-old Oakville boy critically injured Monday in what police have called a “freak accident” is expected to make a full recovery.
The boy’s fight for life continued into Tuesday after he was tangled in the automatic garage door at his family home on Pine Glen Rd. Monday night, said Halton police Sgt. Chantal Corner.
As the garage door began to rise, the hood of his sweater remained stuck on part of the door, lifting the boy and hanging him in mid-air, said Corner.
Police said Wednesday morning that his condition is improving, and he no longer requires life support assistance.
